Meet our Attorneys
Elisa Contreras Salazar graduated from Angelo State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and English in 2002. Prior to and while attending Angelo State University, she spent several years working at a personal injury law firm. Elisa believes that her experiences at this firm in the area of personal injury prompted her to attend law school. Elisa began her law school career at Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston, Texas.
While at Thurgood Marshall School of Law, Elisa served as the Managing Editor of the Thurgood Marshall Law Review and served as an intern to Justice George C. Hanks of the First Court of Appeals in Houston, Texas. Upon graduation, Elisa joined the law firm of Fridge & Resendez, LLC as an Associate Attorney focusing in the areas of commercial litigation and personal injury.
Elisa joined a personal injury practice in Houston in February 2007. While working at this firm, she gained vast experience in the area of personal injury law. Her primary focus was on auto accident, trucking, slip and falls, work injury, and wrongful death cases. Elisa also assisted with the day-to-day management of the firm. Elisa enjoyed the ability to work closely with clients and being able to help injured victims. In her six years at the firm, she brought hundreds of cases to a successful resolution.
In August of 2013, Elisa was appointed by Mayor Annise Parker to serve as an Associate Judge for the City of Houston Municipal Courts. Elisa is deeply committed to serving the community and served as an Associate Judge for the City of Houston until August 2017. In May of 2014, Elisa obtained her Master of Laws in International Law from the University of Houston Law Center.
In her free time, Elisa enjoys spending time with her husband and her two children. They enjoy attending sporting events, baking, and exercising. Elisa’s success can be attributed to the dedication and commitment to each client and their case. She prides herself in vigorously representing her clients and providing them with the personal attention they deserve. Paola Muraira Velazquez
Paola was raised in Corpus Christi and completed her undergraduate studies in Political Science at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in 2003. While in college she not only excelled in her studies but she was also very active at the University. Upon graduating from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, Paola began her law school career at Thurgood Marshall School of Law in the Fall of 2003. During law school she was an active member of the Student Bar Association, the Hispanic Law Student Association, and Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. Paola also was selected to serve as a judicial intern at the Thirteenth Court of Appeals in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Upon graduation Paola moved back to Corpus Christi and joined a firm that handled a variety of cases. In 2008 she was provided with a career opportunity to relocate to Houston and join a prestigious, fast-paced, personal injury law firm. Paola accepted this position due to her passion in helping accident victims.
Upon joining the personal injury firm in Houston, Paola worked on hundreds of cases involving auto accidents, trucking accidents, wrongful death cases, slip & fall cases, and work related injuries. During her five years with the firm, she was able to successfully resolve these cases due to her hard work, dedication, and commitment to each file. Paola was also able to personally communicate with all of her Spanish speaking clients, due to her ability to speak and write her Native language.
In March 2014, Paola was appointed by Mayor Annise Parker to serve the City of Houston as an Adjudication Hearing Officer. Paola enjoyed being able to give back to the City of Houston and its citizens while fulfilling this position. During her free time, Paola enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She also enjoys biking, jogging, and traveling with her family.
Paola has devoted her career as an attorney to fighting passionately for her clients. It is her ultimate goal as an attorney to represent each and every client aggressively, and to dedicate as much time as is necessary to obtain favorable outcomes.
